Signs You May Need Emergency Dental Care

- Severe Pain – this is a sign of infection that may require antibiotics as well as pain relief medication

- Accident – an injury to your mouth/jaw should be seen immediately

- Cracked or Chipped Tooth - it may not seem serious, but ignoring a small crack or chip in your tooth can create larger dental issues

- Lost Tooth – assuming it was a permanent tooth, there’s a possibility the tooth could be saved if seen in time.

- Excessive bleeding - this may be due to gum disease, an accident or any number of other causes

- Pus or Infection – this type of infection could actually spread if ignored

I’m writing this review not just because Bethany asked me to, as I heard her ask multiple people saying "this is how they find new patients", but because I genuinely left her office feeling seen, respected, and cared for in a way that moved me deeply. When I arrived, Bethany helped me with the e-check-in process. I'm currently transitioning , and without hesitation, she asked me what name I’d like to be called—not just my legal name, but the name that feels like ME. She also asked for my preferred pronouns and gently explained, “I just want to make sure you feel comfortable, and that everyone feels welcome here and I do not know if I do not ask.” It might seem like a small gesture to some, but to me, it meant everything. In a world where I often have to explain or defend who I am, Bethany made it clear that I didn’t have to do that here. I was simply welcomed—fully and without question. If you’re looking for more than just a dental office—if you’re looking for a place where kindness is real, and where who you are truly matters—go see Bethany at Oak Ridge Smiles. She reminded me that compassion still exists in this world, and for that, I’m incredibly grateful.
